
VADODARA, July 25: ONGC has been honoured by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for its path-breaking initiatives in Human Resources (HR) activities. Since 1994, HR has been one of the main components in the MoU signed with the Ministry. During the last fianancial year, a number of initiatives were incorporated as the HR component in the MOU on which various working groups prepared study papers and reports. These were evaluated in accordance with the laid down criteria, scoring an Excellent’ grade for ONGC.
Being poised to undergo a major transformation, HR management in ONGC has also come under great focus. While HR is reorienting and reviewing its traditional role and responsibilities, six HR parameters with milestones have been identified and approved by the ONGC for achievement during the current year. These parameters encompass HR roles as a change agent, ERP for HR Systems, quality certification for the training Institute of management development, enhancing productivity and efficiency through Industrial Relations and pilot implementation of success planning model.
ONGC Mahila Samiti: The ONGC Mahila Samiti, Vadodara, which has been playing an important role in the field of socio-economic development, formed its new executive body recently. While Manjula Lal has been elected samiti patron, samiti presidents are Rina Chowdhury and Sharda Rawat, vice-president is Sashi Taneja, secretary is Divya Shrivastava, joint-secretary is P Sarita Kumar, treasurer is Malti Bhardwaj, joint-treasurer is Namita Gupta, cultural secretary is Gunwant Chaudhary, social service-incharge is Alka Jha.
While catering will be looked after by Gitika jain, Kamala Khamishra is elected the co-operate member. The Mahila Samiti showed their solidarity for the soldiers fighting on the borders by donating to the Kargil Fund. Members of Mahila Samiti visited P M Yadav School, Makarpura Road and donated mats. The members also donated books and stationary to poor students.
Games organised: The ONGC employees welfare committee, taking care of sports needs of the employees of Regional Office in Vadodara, added some more events to its list of various indoor and outdoor games this monsoon. The events were carrom, chess, rummy cards, table tennis, volley ball and kabbadi. In the indoor games, rummy cards contest was conducted.
From the men’s side B N Pradhan, M H Patel and Ravi Pathak secured the first, second and third position respectively. Amongst the women’s players Sunita Mehrotri stood first. Table tennis for men was also organised. L V Thakre, K S Gosain were selected in the first and second position respectively.
In outdoor Games, kabbadi final match was played between CBG A’ and EBG A’ teams. CBG A’ won the tournament by the margin of 20 points. The best player was conferred on Krishma Shrirodkar. Y P Avasthi, Chief Geophysicist was the chief guest on the final day.
