BANGALORE, April 13: The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) plans to add one more roofless bus to the existing one meant for tourists. The existing vehicle, `Cauvery’, has not attracted much attention, primarily because of the lack of publicity. Meant to enable tourists to have a good view of the `Garden City’, `Cauvery’ starts from the Bangalore Bus Station and takes in the Vidhana Soudha, Cauvery Bhavan, Cubbon Park, Museum, M G Road, Mayo Hall and Lal Bagh. While most tourists are unaware of the facility, some who have travelled by the bus complain of the lack of a guide, or even a recorded message recounting the history of the various places of tourist interest. The trip is priced at Rs 20 for adults and Rs 10 for children, and the bus can seat upto 40 persons per deck. BMTC Managing Director Pradeep Singh Kharola said efforts would be made to give better publicity to the service once `Kapila’, the new bus, is inducted.
