CHANDIGARH, Feb 16: Teams for super league of the Duplicate Swiss event have been spotted in the Inter-Zonal Ordnance and Ordnance Equipment Factory bridge tournament being held at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Sector 29. Central Zone B8217; scored 107 victory points while Central Zone A8217; secured 102 victory points to enter the last four stage. The other two teams to have qualified for super league are 8212; Ordnance Factory Board and Ordnance Cable Factory, Chandigarh. the former scored 100 victory points while the latter had 99 victory points.

In the pair event, thirty teams participated in the initial round. Ten teams will make it to the final round, which will also decide the winner of the pair event.

However, in the progressive event 15 teams are in the fray.

The central zone B8217; team comprised of RC Shah, Basant Kumar, PK Sarkar, BN Basu, PK Das and Rk Chattopadhya while D Adhikari, AK Bardhan, A Santra, A Dutta, BD Biswas and TK Bhattracharya consisted of the Central Zone A8217;.

SK Sengupta, RN Das, D Roy Choudhary, SB Chakaravarty, PK Chattapadhya were members of the OFB team.

RS Narayanan, SC Bhar, A Mukerjee, SK Sarkar and RC Gupta were in OCF, Chandigarh team.

ICC win trophy
ICC XI beat High Court XI by two wickets to win the first M L Kaushik Memorial cricket tournament here today.

High Court XI stumbled in the face of some accurate bowling by Jaswant Rai 4 for 19 and were allout for 104. ICC XI chased the target losing eight wickets. Gurpreet scored 21 runs for them.

Scores: High Court: 104 Gurdeep Rana 23, Rajinder Singh 19, Raj Kumar 18; Jaswant Rai 4-19, Parveen Sharma 2-17 lost to ICC: 105 for 8 Gurpreet Singh 21, Dharamveer 17; Pardeep 2-20, Jatinder 3-16.

Tourney rescheduled
The third Nand Lal Memorial cricket tournament has been rescheduled and will now start from March 7 at the PGI ground. Entries may be sent by February 28 to Parbod Pajni, H.No. 3174, Sector 38.
