MUMBAI, February 16: Oberoi Hotel beat Tarun Sangha 2-0 in a quarter-final match of IV nine-a-side Rolling soccer tournament at the Mumbai School Sports Association ground today. Anthony D8217;Souza and Sydney Meher scored for the winners.

Etambe-Nagankar win

Nagsen Elambe and Sanjay Nagankar won open doubles final the Seventh District carrom championship played at the Rashtriya Mill Mazdoor Sangh, Parel. They defeated Sajid Sayyed and DileshKhedekar 10-25, 25-10, 25-4.

Ace in last 16

ACE XI beat Borivilians 3-1 in the Don Bosco Challenge Cup Seniors organised by Don Bosco Youth Centre and played at the St Joseph8217;s ITI Ground Kurla. Ace XI entered the pre-quarterfinal.

Ace went into lead in the 10th minute when a pass from Robert D8217;Costa was connected by Alex D8217;Souza from close range. Borivilian XI equalised in the 25th minute through Valerian Picardo. But in the next minute, a powerful shot by Robert D8217;Costa from the top of the box off a pass from Alex D8217;Souza gave Ace a 2-1 lead. Alex D8217;Souza made it 3-1 five minutes before close.

In another match, Kirol Young Boys beat G M Breweries via tie-breaker 6-5 FT O-O. Deepak Shetty, Harish Devadiga, Suneet Shetty, Alfred Saldanha, Nitin Kotian and Godfrey Rodrigues scored for the winners while D8217;Souza, Santan Fernandes, Joe Mascarenhas, Douglas Fernandes and Clint Fernandes netted for the losers.
