
CHANDIGARH, May 12: Punjab Nurses Association today held a rally in front of the Director of Health Services office, Punjab, which later on shifted to secretariat, Sector-9.
The representatives of the Delhi Nurses Association and the nurses from Haryana, PGI and UT also participated in the rally. The rally was organised in support of their demands which included better pay scales, time bound promotion and increase in the allowances such as nursing and non- practising allowance.
The nurses were allegedly lathi charged by the police on violation of Section 144 by them, said Jewanpreet Kaur, state president, Punjab Nurses Association in a press release here today.
Meanwhile, the PGI Nurses Welfare Association continued two- hour dharna on the second day today.
