Nursery wing opened

CHANDIGARH, Aug 11: The renovated nursery wing of the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 33, was inaugurated today by N.K. Jain, the Home Secretary-cum-Education secretary.

The wing was done up by four arts teachers of the UT government schools to give a new look to the playroom of the school. The teachers 8212; Harveen P Kaushal, Surjit Singh, Varinder Kaur and Sanjeev Arora 8212; belong to various government schools and renovated the playroom in order to give a new look to the room.The room, with freshly painted plastic toys and beautifully done walls, is an effort by the Education department to bring government schools at par with private schools nursery schools.

The wing named: quot;Piyushquot; brought honour to the four teachers from the Home Secretary. Speaking on the occasion, Jain praised the efforts of the teachers and the Parent Teachers Association, which had raised the funds for the renovation of the playroom. He also promised a television set and a VCR for the nursery class. D.S. Saroya, DPI S, Brahmjit Kalia, District Education Officer were also present on the occasion.
