CHANDIGARH, Oct 8: In a low scoring match North Zone beat South Zone 14-10 in the girls basketball event in the Kendriya Vidyalaya national sports meet being held at Panjab University Campus.

North Zone boys and girls teams also excelled in volleyball encounters. In the boys section, North defeated East Zone 15-6, 15-11, 15-6 while in the girls group they outplayed 15-8, 15-7, 15-11.

In hockey, in girls group, Central, South North and West Zones won their respective league matches.
