Lalu Prasad Yadav might be losing his clout in Bihar, but his brother-in-law Sadhu Yadav certainly isn’t. And Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Minister of State for Food, learnt it the hard way the other day. It so happened that Singh had persuaded his senior minister Sharad Pawar to inaugurate a sugar mill near his constituency. As per the plan, Pawar and Singh and two RJD MPs—Raghunath Jha and Sitaram Singh—were scheduled to take a four-seater helicopter from Patna to the inauguration spot. However, at the last minute Sadhu Yadav decided to join them. He came and occupied a seat along with the other three before Pawar arrived. When Pawar turned up, he waited for someone to vacate a seat for him. The passengers looked at the gatecrasher in anticipation, but Sadhu did not budge. This left Singh with no option but to disembark. He had to wait for the chopper to return and make a second trip to the site.
