THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JULY 22: Well-Known South Indian actor Charuhassan is of the opinion that there was no need for the Censor Board system in the country.

8220;The job of editing, to be carried out by professionals, should not be left to a bunch of people in the Board,8221; he told reporters here.

Sex and violence were part of the society and it could not be avoided from films and only these two things succeeded in films, he said.

8220;Violence should be minimal,8221; he said adding, however, there was no point in moving away from sex.

8220;Either a film should be banned or cleared as it is,8221; he said adding the Censor Board had no business to pass the film with cuts here and there indulging in the work of editor and director.

However,he avoided a direct reply when asked whether an overdose of sex in films was harmful to the society.
