THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JULY 22: Well-Known South Indian actor Charuhassan is of the opinion that there was no need for the Censor Board system in the country.

“The job of editing, to be carried out by professionals, should not be left to a bunch of people in the Board,” he told reporters here.

Sex and violence were part of the society and it could not be avoided from films and only these two things succeeded in films, he said.

“Violence should be minimal,” he said adding, however, there was no point in moving away from sex.

“Either a film should be banned or cleared as it is,” he said adding the Censor Board had no business to pass the film with cuts here and there indulging in the work of editor and director.

However,he avoided a direct reply when asked whether an overdose of sex in films was harmful to the society.
