GURGAON, April 26: The killing of industrialist, Vikas Kalra, on the outskirts of the city a few days ago has once again brought to the fore the deteriorating law and order situation here.

Kalra was gunned down by armed assailants near the DLF Colony while he was coming from Faridabad on April 22. The assailants took away his car after killing him and injuring his driver seriously. Though Kalra’s car was recovered on Friday from near Jharsa, the police have not been able to make any further breakthrough.

A BMW rammed into a motorcycle, killing Navjot Singh, a Finance Ministry official, and injuring his wife. Mohammad Gulfam, a passerby, rushed them to a private hospital after the car driver asked him to. The driver, Gaganpreet Makkar, and her family were also admitted to the same hospital. Police have booked Gaganpreet for culpable homicide and attempting to destroy evidence.
