PUNE, Aug 19: Nimish Patankar defeated Pranav Kuber 22-24, 21-18, 13-21, 21-12, 26-24 to lift the finals of the Kumar Foundation District Ranking Table Tennis tournament that concluded at the Girija Shankar Vihar Sports Club here today.

Junior Boys: Nimish Patankar bt Pranav Kuber 22-24, 21-18, 13-21, 21-12, 26-24 3-2; Junior Girls: Mansi Shewade bt Kshipra Gogate 22-20, 21-14, 21-15 3-0; Women8217;s Singles: Sonia Deshpande bt Shraddha Shastri 21-9, 21-17, 21-15 3-0; Men8217;s Singles: Abhijit Sarawate bt Upendra Mulay 21-16, 26-24, 21-14 3-0.

Aniket takes opener
Aniket Koparkar kept up his season8217;s good run as he defeated Akash Deshpande by a comprehensive margin of 21-5, 21-12 on the opening day of the Amit Khisti Memorial District Ranking Table Tennis tournament at the Sharada Sports Complex here today.

A total of 360 participants have confirmed entry for this second edition of the tournament, which will conclude on August 23.

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated at the hands of Gulabrao 8212; Superintendent of Police Rural Pune, Uday Balachandran 8212; Secretary, Poona District Table Tennis Association PDTTA and Shriram Konkar 8212; Secretary, PDTTA.
