
CHANDIGARH, Aug 11: Paramjit Kaur took over as president of the Lions Club Chandigarh Nightingale at a function held here today. Past district governor K. S. Sandhu was the installation officer on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Paramjit Kaur assured that the club would work to achieve “excellence through harmony” and all projects started by the past president would be completed in time.
Outgoing president Charanjeet Rekhy said that two poor and needy students had been adopted by the club to bear expenses being incurred on their study, clothing and food. Three tri-cycles were presented to two crippled and economically backward persons. District Governor Ravi Goel released a souvenir-cum-telephone directory through which the club collected Rs 75,000.
Other new members of the club are: secretary: Surjit Patheja, joint secretary: Harbant Gill, treasurer: Kulwant Kaur and vice-presidents: Sublesh Bansal and Devinder Bedi.
