PUNE, March 1: Leela Mehendale, joint secretary of National Commission for Women NCW, today said the commission8217;s effectiveness was hampered because it did not have any teeth.
Mehendale emphasised that the commission was investigating the Anjana Mishra rape case and creating awareness by holding seminars on the laws pertaining to rape. Mehedale, regretted that inability to take any kind of strict action was limiting the commission8217;s effectiveness.
