The director of the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA), Pune today filed an affidavit in the HC, debunking allegations against the institute by ‘‘whistle-blower’’ and former employee Vinod Paraskar. Director Rajaram Nityanand said Paraskar lost his job due to his incompetence.
The Bombay HC has adjourned the matter to September 1. The affidavit filed by Nityanand says the services of senior administrative officer Paraskar was terminated for his incompetence and shortcomings. Paraskar, had said the termination was ‘‘malafide’’ and a result of his repeated complaints highlighting financial irregularities at the NCRA and its field office at Khodad.
The affidavit filed by Nityanand on behalf of TIFR says: ‘‘The petitioner’s style and temperament in dealing with colleagues was not at all satisfactory.’’ It claims Paraskar got additional probations followed by a termination order because of his unsatisfactory performance.
