Nayanar is 81 amp; going strong

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM,DECember 9: Kerala Chief Minister and Marxist veteran E K Nayanar turned 81 today.

But, for the longest-serving Chief Minister of the state, it was business as usual with no public birthday bash or special family party. Nayanar attended the office, went through files and held discussions with officials. He is slated to address a public meeting in the evening organised by the ruling Left Democratic Front LDF.

When journalists asked him yesterday whether he had any plans to treat them with sweets, Nayanar quipped, 8220;I will be glad if you treat me.8221;
