To restore teaching order, students of 70 government secondary schools in Lucknow division are being asked to answer these six questions this week.
The questionnaire, prepared under the guidance of Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Shankar Pandey, has been circulated in schools across six districts. Action will be taken against teachers who invite maximum complaints.
While most schools have already completed the exercise, it8217;s still to be done in 13 Rajkiya Inter Colleges.
8220;The idea is to ascertain the names of teachers who are not regular in taking classes, force students to join private coaching or encourage them to use unfair means. Each student will be asked to answer the questionnaire which will be submitted to the divisional commissioner. The procedure has been delayed due to some technical problems in Lucknow district but will be completed within the next one week,8221; said Ganesh Kumar, District Inspector of Schools, Lucknow.
Sources said a divisional-level committee will go through the answers and finalise the names of teachers who will be punished or rewarded.
While the Divisional Commissioner believes this method will improve the quality of education in government secondary schools, the teachers8217; association thinks otherwise.
8220;In case any major action is taken against teachers, we will protest because this process can be easily misused to settle personal scores,8221; said R P Mishra, the teachers8217; association leader. 8220;They are unable to inspect all the schools under their purview.8221;
