CHANDIGARH, JUNE 11: Various political parties and organisations have condemned the Pakistan action of sending mutilated bodies of dead Indian soldiers captured by them in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
Condemning the action, local units of Janata Dal, CPI and CPI M have decided to form a human chain to express solidarity with the forces, fighting the battle for the nation in Kargil and to express sympathies with the families of those soldiers killed there.
Local Janata Dal general secretary Rajendra Mohan Kashyap said in a statement here today, that the Pakistan act was quot;outrageous, which violated the international conventionsquot;. The parties have also sought the resignation of Defence Minister George Fernandes on moral grounds.
In another statement, Congress leaders and president and general secretary of the Chandigarh Nagrik Sabha, Chaman Lal Sharma and Amarjit Singh Sethi, alongwith Brig Racchpal Singh retd have said that the Pakistan action is an indication to their intentions of humiliating provoking us and for throwing conventions of morality to the winds.The leaders appealed to the public, including political parties to strengthen the hands of the defence forces in fighting the war against infiltrators and Pakistan.
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha has also condemned the torturing and mutilating of Indian soldiers captured by Pakistan.In a Press statement here, Satinder Singh, Shakti Prakash Devshali, while paying tributes to the killed Indian soldiers, said such an act by Pakistan is shameful, unwarranted and against all international norms.
