Urging Muslims to strive for ‘quality education’, All India Muslim Personal Law Board Vice President, Maulana Kalbe Sadiq said on Monday that the community needed to step out of madarsas.

“Muslims should set up modern educational institutions instead of madarsas to seek quality education and widen mental horizons”, he told media persons in Muzaffarnagar.

The leading Shia cleric also called upon Muslim women to play a leading role in the development of the community.

Commenting on the Sachar Committee report, Sadiq said the deprived educational and economic status of Muslims as highlighted in the Sachar report was an eye-opener and the community should draw a lesson from it.
