Musharraf8217;s escort chopper crashes, 4 killed

A helicopter escorting Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf crashed in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir killing four security officials and injuring his spokesman.

The General, who was travelling to a 2005 earthquake anniversary ceremony in PoK, was unhurt.

The medium-lift helicopter, which was carrying Musharraf8217;s spokesman Rashid Qureshi and other security and staff officials, was following the President8217;s aircraft when it crashed near Gari Dupata town after catching fire, military spokesman Maj Gen Waheed Arshad said.

Qureshi and three other officers were injured and were taken to a hospital in Muzaffarabad.

Four soldiers had died in the accident, Arshad said.

Musharraf, who is visiting Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to participate in ceremonies on the anniversary the devastating earthquake two years ago, was in another helicopter, officials said.
