PUNE, JULY 29: Chief Minister Narayan Rane wishes to compare Maharashtra not only with some States around it which have tied a knot with the modern technology, but also with a few developed nations around the world in the near future.
The State government, working in agreement with a multinational consulting agency McKenzie, has embarked upon “Maharashtra Vison 2011”, a plan for a model Maharashtra. Maharashtra Government has brought 30 per cent equity in a company floated by technocrat Sam Pitroda which would spell out the information and technology development in Maharashtra, Rane disclosed during the meet-the-press.
“An agreement was signed with McKenzie just before the election code of conduct came into effect,” Rane said adding that the multinational would also suggest a plan to adopt either the Singapore or Kuala Lumpur model for Mumbai by the year 2005.
