Moving images of death and the destruction of our heritage by vicious perpetrators and political neglect devastate this resilient Mumbai soul. I hope that 12 million individual Mumbaikars change forever and swear never to forget. Twelve million moments of individual catharsis, could lead to collective change that will give us a new society that aggressively combats divisive forces and we as a people have to pledge that self seeking politicians will never be a part of this great city. Time and again we have been failed by state and central governments. I think the time has come for Mumbai to have its own CEO to look after its welfare and security of its citizens. I am hopeful as long as we never forget!

The cause for the terrorists8217; success is insider help, lack of transparency in government and lack of accountability. People can blame the Navy for not intercepting the terrorists en route. The Indian Navy is understaffed, nderequipped in terms of light fast patrol vessels which can cover a large area in a short time, and no land based sea radar net. Considering our country has a vast coastline it is anyway difficult to cover even with adequate resources. A big cause is also complacency at all levels in believing that no one would dare try what was just done.This is also why our top cops were lost as they did not have protective escorts.
