
Stone hurled at WR train; Dahisar resident hurt
A Dahisar resident was injured on his forehead when he was hit by a stone while travelling on a suburban local on Saturday afternoon. Dharmesh Sureshchandra Master (29) was sitting by the window of a fast local, on his way to Churchgate, when an unidentified person threw a stone at the train after it passed Elphinstone Road. The stone struck Master on his forehead. Master got down at Mumbai Central where the station master administered him first aid. A case has been registered under Section 152 of the Indian Railway Act with the Mumbai Central Railway Police regarding the incident.
Dowry case: Navy Lt in custody
A navy Lieutenant has been remanded to police custody till August 9 by the Additional Metropolitan Magistrate here in a dowry death case. Lieutenant Vinayak Sheshnarayan Mishra was arrested for allegedly harassing his wife Archana to get a car in dowry which apparently led her to commit suicide. The police began investigating the caseafter Archana’s parents based in Kanpur produced their daughter’s letters narrating the mental torture she was subjected to and the threat to end her life.
Repair work on Central Rly
Central Railway will carry out repair works on the down local tracks between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and Vidya Vihar on Sunday between 10 am to 4 pm. Hence all slow trains from CST will run on the fast track between the concerned stations. Passengers from Masjid, Sandhurst Road, Chinchpokli, Curry Road and Vidya Vihar will be permitted to travel on the Up line on their card/season ticket via Byculla, Parel and Ghatkopar during the period.

New Konkan Rly status system
Passengers can now find the latest train position of the Konkan Railway through a new train displaysystem placed next to the booking window. The first such display system was inaugurated at Madgaon railway station recently. It is a computer operated module and the timings are updated every ten minutes. This system will also start functioning at the other stations shortly.
Bombay Veterinary College anniversary
