State staff sets deadline for bonus settlement
The Maharashtra Rajya Sarkari Karmachari Mahasangh has decided to give the State Government a reprieve till Saturday for settling the Diwali bonus of Mantralaya employees. According to chief advisor of the Mahasangh Advocate Pramod Desai, Chief Secretary Arun Bongirwar had told the union members that State was unable to bear the additional burden of Rs 290 crore towards the bonus in the wake of the poor economic situation in the State. Desai said that the union would wait till Saturday for a decision and then decide the future course of action.

Special rates for sugar, palm oil
The State Goverment has decided to distribute sugar at Rs 9.05 per kilogramme for the Diwali season while palm oil will be distributed at Rs 25 per kg in adivasi regions and at Rs 26 per kg in non-adivasi regions.
