Change of name for Mahim park

The Urban Development Department has decided to change the name of Mahim Nature Park to Maharashtra Nature Park. The park, developed by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority, has been handed over to the Maharashtra Nature Park Society for maintenance and management. The board of governors for the society comprise the state chief secretary as society president, department secretaries forest, environment, urban development, school education, Mumbai metropolitan commissioner, the municipal commissioner, and four eminent citizens.

Course in Kannada

Mumbai Kannada Sangha will conduct a one year part-time course in Kannada for non-Kannadigas from the second week of August. Application forms and syllabus can be obtained from the secretary or librarian from 6 to 8.30 pm on a weekday. Treatment camp for all ailments

The Lions Club of Andheri has organised a treatment camp for patients suffering from hearing problems developed due to noise pollution or old age at the Holistic Healing Centre, next to Juhu police station on August 6 from 5 to 8 pm.

Peace march on August 6

The Citizens8217; Committee for the Commemoration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki has organised a silent march on August 6, starting from Azad Maidan at 3 pm and culminating at Hutatma Chowk by 3.45 pm. A peace pledge will be takenthereafter. For details, call on 3872061.

Blood donation camp
