ABVP to hold Antarang8217;
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad8217;s Dadar unit will conduct a personality development camp Antarang-99 on May 8, 9 and 10 at Vidyanidhi High School, Juhu Vile Parle. Camps will be conducted on acting, painting, journalism and poetry. Thirty collegians can enroll for any of the subjects. The entry fee is Rs 100.

Vinay Apte, Vaman Kendre, Abhiram Bhadamkar and Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi will guide the students in sharpening their acting skills. Similarly, Professor Anant Kulkarni, Professor Santosh Kshirsagar and Professor Shashikant Gadre will guide students in painting. While, Nila Upadhya, V N Deodhar, Shradha Belsare and Sudhir Nandgaonkar will take classes in journalism. And in poetry, Pravin Davane, Ashok Naigaonkar, Chandra Shekhar Sanekar will guide the students. Painting and drawing classes
The Godkar Art Academy willhold painting and drawing classes from April 17 to May 16. The classes will be held in two divisions every Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 12.30 pm at Chhabildas Boys High School, opposite Vanmali Hall, first floor, room no 7, Dadar west. The classes aim at giving children simple guidance to sketching, drawing, painting, charcoal painting, ink drawing, composition, animal and figure paintings, art and craft, landscape and making greeting cards. Impact starts a floating hospital
Impact, a United Nations Global Inter Agency Initiative for the prevention and cure of avoidable disablement, has set up a equipped modern floating hospital in Mawa, Bangladesh. The project was launched on April 10 at Mawa by Abdus Samad Azad, Foreign Minister of Bangladesh.

The floating hospital, a replication of Impact India8217;s Lifeline Express, the world8217;s first hospital on a train, will operate in the Ganga and Bramhaputra deltas. A medical team is stationed on board, supported byspecialists, local recruits and overseas volunteers.

Seminar on development
The Mumbai Nagrik Vikas Manch along with other NGOs is organising a public meeting on FSI and Mumbai8217;s Development8217; on April 17 at Max Mueller Bhavan, Kala Ghoda between 2.30 and 6.30 pm. The meeting is expected to thrash out alternative policies for Mumbai8217;s development, including the development of mill land, the Slum Redevelopment Scheme, reconstruction of cessed buildings and FSI regulations for NDZ, heritage buildings, roads and open spaces.

Tercentenary celebrations
To mark the tercentenary celebrations of the Khalsa Panth, a Khalsa march will leave Pune for Mumbai on April 18. After reaching the city, the march will reassemble at Chunabhati Gurdwara at 2 pm and will proceed to Guru Nanak High School, Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar via Amrit Nagar, Sion and Raoli Camp. Workshop on self defence
The Young Women8217;s Christian Association will hold a half-day training workshop on women8217;s self defence on April 17 from 2.30 pm to 6 pm at its Regal centre. The workshop is open to women of all ages. For details, call on 2020122 or 2844822.

Lecture by Ananthamurthy
The Mysore Association, Bombay and the Department of Kannada, University of Mumbai will host a lecture by renowned writer Dr U R Ananth Murthy. Winner of the Gynpeeth award, Murthy is also ex-Chancellor of the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. He wll speak on Kannada Culture 8211; A Perspective8217; on April 16 and 17 at 6.30 pm at the NKES Hall, Indulal Bhavan Marg, Wadala.

Personality camp at Andheri
The Divine Grace Youth Academy will hold a personality development camp for the age group of seven to 20 years at Bhavans A H Wadia High School, Munshi Nagar, J P Road, opposite Andheri Sports Complex, Andheri west from May 2 to 16 between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm. BARC seminar on machine tools
A two-day international seminar on the art of tool manufacturing will be held at the BARC training school hostel building, Anushakti Nagar, Chembur from April 15 to help Indian tool manufacturing companies to update their production capabilities.

Jointly organised by the Indo-German Tool Room, Aurangabad and the Institute for Design of Electrical Measuring Instruments, Mumbai, the seminar is being addressed by international experts from Switzerland, Germany and Italy and attended by hardcore professionals in field of tool manufacturing. An attraction of the event is an exhibition of products including high-tech manufacturing tools and new generation applications to be introduced for the first time. UNI

WWF holds a discount sale
