A sub-engineer with the buildings department in R-south ward office of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation was suspended on Saturday for accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000.
Tahir Aurangabadwala was caught red-handed by the vigilance department at 9 pm at Kajupada, Borivli, on Friday, following which additional municipal commissioner Shreedhar Joshi issued suspension orders against him. He has been remanded to police custody.
