
Rail services disrupted
A disruption caused by an LPG gas leakage on an LPG tanker train delayed seven long distance Western Railway trains between Ahmedabad and Mumbai early this morning.
Said a WR spokesperson, the incident occurred when an LPG rake was loaded at Cawas in Hazira, Surat, for its destination in Asauti in north India.
The train was stopped at Panoli, short of Ankleshwar on the Baroda-Surat section at 5.30 am soon after a well leakage was detected in one of the tanks. Fire tenders and Indian oil technicians were rushed to the spot and the area sealed. All Up and Down trains were stopped some distance away from the spot until the situation was rectified by 10.30 am.
While down trains ran on schedule, seven trains plying between Ahmedabad and Delhi and three trains plying between Delhi and Mumbai were delayed upto five hours.

The Bombay Shorthand Writers8217; Association and Godrej will hold the Godrej National Speed Typing Championship contest on May 24 at Udayachal Primary school hall, Vikhroli E. This is the culmination of regional contests held at 25 centres all over the country. Thirty five top rankers will vie for the post of the all India champion and the Godrej rolling trophy.
