Priyadarshan holds hands with ex-wife Lissy at Sibi Malayil’s son’s wedding; shares hearty laugh. Watch

While one clip showed a cheerful Sibi Malayil posing with Priyadarshan and Lissy, with his hands around their shoulders, another featured the two interacting with other guests. As they exited the stage, Lissy was seen holding Priyadarshan’s hand as she helped him climb down the steps. They also shared a laugh as they walked away. The duo was previously seen together at their son Siddharth’s wedding in 2023. He reportedly tied the knot in a private ceremony at a Chennai apartment with only close friends and family in attendance.

One of Malayalam cinema’s most celebrated power couples, Priyadarshan and Lissy filed for divorce in 2014, and it was finalised in 2016, ending their 26-year marriage. Aside from Siddharth, they are also parents to a daughter, Kalyani Priyadarshan, who rose to national fame recently by headlining the superhero film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra.

During an interview, Priyadarshan once mentioned that their marriage ended due to “ego.” He told Grihalakshmi, “The only reason for the problem in my family was ego. I was born and brought up in a conservative family, and in my mind, the model of a woman is my mother. When we marry, we should not expect our partner to have the same nature as that of our mother because it is not possible, as she is from a different generation.”

The legendary filmmaker added, “My parents also loved Lissy more than my sister. All these years I was living in heaven, and now we are separated. But my house (in Chennai) still bears the same name: Priyadarshan-Lissy. I know that, irrespective of whatever has happened, she still respects me. It was just a problem of ego.”
