IE function for principals
Indian Express organised a function for the principals of all English medium schools of Mumbai. There was a good response from the principals for the new concept of Partners In Education that is to be introduced in the schools this year. Deputy Director of Education greater Mumbai, D C Deshmukh who was the chief guest, appreciated the efforts of the Indian Express in cultivating reading habits in children. He also praised the newspaper for finding innovative methods of imparting knowledge to students.During the function there was an interactive session with principals, who spoke about their views regarding the activities of Indian Express and the education system in general.
Plant workshop for women
WIMA Association of Women Entrepreneurs/Industrialists of Maharashtra and KSA Kanara Saraswat Association has organised a workshop on growing and marketing of plants8217; for women on Sept 10 between 12 pm and 6 pm at Shrimat Anandashram Hall, 13/1-2Talmakiwadi, Tardeo Road, near Bhatia Hospital to give women opportunities to start home-based businesses with minimum investment. Registration at the hall is between 10 am to 12 noon and 6 pm to 8 pm.Charity show of 1947-Earth n BELIEF, a charitable trust that provides help to the underprivileged, is organising a premiere show of Deepa Mehta8217;s 1947 Earth, starring Aamir Khan, Nandita Das, Rahul Khanna and Kitu Gidwani and scored by A R Rahman, on September 9. The show is mainly for donors who have contributed to the cause. The proceeds of the premiere will go to handicapped children.
Programme on harmony
The Prasanna Foundation and Organisation has organised Corporate Harmony and Creativity at Work8217;, to be conducted by Swami Sukhabodhananda for senior management personnel who are involved in decision-making processes.
