Sumo rams bus, 16 hurt
Sixteeen persons were injured when a Tata Sumo rammed a BEST bus from behindon the LBS Marg, Mulund, this afternoon.
Police sources said the Sumo appeared to be travelling at high speed when ithit the BEST bus at around 3.30 pm. Passengers in both the vehicles and theBEST conductor suffered injuries. They have been admitted to Mulund GeneralHospital. Police have arrested the Sumo8217;s driver, Mohammed Yakub Qureshi,and booked him for rash and negligent driving.
Illicit liquor seized
Officers of the Excise department seized more than 70 bottles of fake liquorbeing sold as foreign-made Scotch from a bootlegger at Chembur on Thursdayevening. Officers attached to L division nabbed the bootlegger at Chemburstation last evening. According to Police Sub-inspector D D Rathod, largestocks of fake liquor were recovered from his residence at Four Bungalows inAndheri.
