Mumbai attacks: Victims still in hospitals

Of the 109 terror victims admitted to the state run JJ hospital since the attack, 61 were still recuperating at the hospital till Sunday evening.

Of the 109 terror victims admitted to the state run JJ hospital since the attack, 61 were still recuperating at the hospital till Sunday evening. The body of one slain terrorist was shifted to J J hospital8217;s morgue on Sunday morning from the B Y L Nair Hospital. It has been kept along with the bodies of the eight other terrorists there.

Six of the 61 injured- Papu Kumar Yadav, Jairam Chauvhan, Bechand Gupta, Poonam Singh, Nathuni Yadav and Anil Waran- are at JJ hospital8217;s critical care unit. According to the hospital authorities, approximately 25 surgeries both major and minor were performed on the injured. 10 of those were orthopedic surgeries.

8220;Today a patient was discharged bringing the number to 61. The total number of dead bodies since the attack at this hospital is 112 of which only 10 are at the morgue, rest all the bodies are claimed. Body of the terrorist at Nair Hospital was transferred to JJ hospital for storage on Sunday morning,8221; said Dr Shashi Pawar, in-charge, disaster management, at the hospital. One of the remaining bodies is that of an unidentified male, he added.

Soon after the firing at the CST station and Cafeacute; Leopold, victims were rushed to St George Hospital and GT Hospital in Fort area. Many of the foreign nationals were later shifted to Bombay and Jaslok Hospital . According to Bombay Hospital, as of 9 am , Sunday morning, 36 patients were still recuperating at the hospital.
