MUL plans 3 new models this year

New Delhi, January 14: Maruti Udyog Limited will launch three models this year Baleno Estate, an 800 cc car and a 1000 cc car, Jagdish Khattar, managing director, MUL, told press persons here today.

8220;With the launch of these three new models, Maruti would have launched five models in eight months,8221; Khattar said. Baleno was launched in November, while MUL had unveiled the Wagon-R last month. From Khattar8217;s statement it seems that Maruti will launch the other three models before June. Baleno Estate is the station wagon version of the Baleno. He did not reveal details of the other two models. 8220;The new models will have a high level of commonisation,8221; the Maruti chief said. 8220;Economies of scale will come from the sale of model XYZ, all of which will be based on one platform,8221; Khattar said.
