MSU hostel residents protest against poor food quality

Afsha Hirani, a hostel resident, said: 8220;The mess owner, Rajan Thapa, was forced to leave after he misbehaved with the Hostel Executive Committee members. The quality of food is very poor.8221;

Another resident added: 8220;Thapa frequently boasted about his contacts with the varsity authorities and thus no concrete action could be taken against him.8221;

On Sunday, the girls locked the SD Hall mess till the charge was given to the new contractor.

D P Bharambe, Chief Warden, MSU Halls of Residence, said: 8220;Authorities at the SD Hall sent a written note to me regarding the issue. All the girls have shown their discontent regarding the food served at the mess. I have agreed to their demands and will be appointing a new contractor.8221;
