Mohali cops nab snatching suspects

SAS Nagar, Oct 8: The local police have arrested two youths suspected to be involved in snatching incidents in the township. According to Roopnagar Senior Superintendent of Police G. S. Bhullar, the duo were caught last night. He disclosed that the police had laid a naka at the Khumbra light point.

quot;The two were coming on a Bajaj Chetak scooter PB-65 1686, from Sector 71. On seeing the cops they tried to flee but the police party apprehended them.quot; The two have been identified as Manjeet Singh alias Bobby of Phase III-A and Mandeep Singh alias Vicky of Phase X. The SSP claimed that the duo admitted that they had snatched the purse of a lady in Phase III-A on September 20.

The purse contained Rs 7,000. Manjeet was working as air conditioner mechanic and Mandeep as a photographer. When they were frisked Rs 600 was found from Mandeep8217;s pocket and Rs 1,100 from Manjeet8217;s.
