
SURAT, Sept 19: Two minors, a boy and a girl, have been reported missing from different areas of the city. The police have registered cases and are investigating further.
Kavita Gurkha 12, the daughter of Karansingh Gurkha from Adajan, is missing since Friday evening, the Rander police were informed. Ketan Bachu Mahida, a resident of 2/B Rudraksh Apartments on Adajan Patia, informed the police late on Saturday night that the girl is missing since Friday evening.
Gurkha8217;s family, who reside in the building8217;s basement, were asleep on Friday afternoon and woke to find the girl absent. Last seen, the girl was wearing a purple frock and slippers.
The parents told Rander police that the girl understands Hindi and Gujarati, but cannot speak these languages fluently. She has a white mark on her face. Head constable Ramdas Barku is investigating further.
In another case registered at the Umra police station, a 14-year-old boy is missing from the Parle Point area. Sahikh Abu Kalam, uncle of the missing Shaikh Abu Salal Kalam, told the police that Salal is missing since September 8.
He is reported to have told his uncle that he was going to his house in Mustubapur village in West Bengal, but did not reach there. The boy speaks Hindi and Bengali, and has four fingers in his left hand. ASI Prabhakar Gambhirbhai is investigating.
