PATIALA, May 31: The Punjab State Ministerial Services Union has decided to launch an agitation from June 1 to protest what it called the government8217;s indifferent attitude regarding its demands.

In a statement, union president Raj Kumar Arora said the government has failed to respond positively to the demands though an ultimatum was served to accept the demands by May 31.

Arora said demonstrations will be held at the district level from June 1, after which the union leaders would present memoranda to deputy commissioners. He said division-level rallies would be organised at Ferozepur on June 2, Patiala on June 9, Jalandhar on June 18 and Chandigarh on June 23.

He said the government had failed to honour its commitment regarding the demands raised by the employees.

Arora said if the demands were not accepted soon, rallies would be organised against the SAD-BJP election candidates.
