Pablo del Olmo fired another brilliant round today, carding a five-under-par, 67 to wrest an outright lead with a total of 14-under-par, 202, after the penultimate round of the Asian PGA Tour’s $ 300,000 Royal Challenge Indian Open. The Mexican professional, who carded an opening round 69, followed by a 66 yesterday, heads into the final round with a three-stroke lead over overnight leaders Mardan Mamat and Keith Horne, who both carded identical scores of two-under-par at the Delhi Golf Course today. ‘‘I got lucky,’’ said the leader, who seems destined to win this week. Heading down the final stretch, Pablo missed a short putt for a birdie on the par-five 18th, but his score could have been much worse after he pushed his three-iron second shot to the left.

However, his ball hit the trees and came to rest just behind the fairway bunker. An excellent chip that hit his playing partner, Thaworn’s ball, finished two feet from the cup for a birdie, resulting in a comfortable par. ‘‘I think the Indian Gods smiled on me today,’’ he added after his round.
