BANGALORE, August 5: An archaeological site dating back to the Megalithic or Iron Age has been discovered in Boochalli village in Bangalore Rural district. The site yeilded 2,500-year-old relics of burials performed by the culture which thrived in the area between 3000 BC and 100 AD.The site was discovered by M N Sharma, a research scholar at the Mysore University. He said the finds included pieces of one-metre-high urns, such has have been discovered only in one other place at Karnataka, and are thought to point to the practice of "secondary burials".
