AHMEDABAD, Aug 4: Desh Raksha Muslim Council, a Bhavnagar-based organisation, will organise a conference to pay tribute to Kargil martyrs and discuss the problems being faced by the minority community.

Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel will be chief guest at the conference, which is to be held at Motibaug town hall in Bhavnagar on August 7. Council convener Yusuf Sakarwala said that a number of prominent personalities from the community would also take part in the meet which is being organised to discuss the status of the minority community in the present circumstances.

Maulana Qasim Ashraf of Uttar Pradesh will present a cheque towards the Kargil Relief Fund to the chief minister on the occasion. According to Sakarwala, the spirit of unity and patriotism demonstrated by Indian Muslims recently has surprised the world.
