MC workers to stage protest

CHANDIGARH, Jan 5: The horticulture workers of the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh at its meeting held here today decided to hold rallies in phases from January 8 to raise their demands. Criticising the Corporation officials8217; indifferent attitude towards their long-pending demands, the union also decided to hold a dharna in front of the office of the corporation, the date of which will be decided after the proposed rallies.

The workers are demanding filling up of all vacant posts, release of risk allowance, release of bonus and payment of arrears to daily waged workers besides issuance of rain coat and warm clothes.
