OCT 16: The Delhi city police has launched a massive manhunt to trace a Delhi police constable, missing for the last three days.

Rajeveer Singh, a constable of the third battalion of Delhi police, went missing near the city’s posh shopping plaza New Market on Saturday afternoon.

"We are trying our best. But it is not not yet clear whether he has been kidnapped or has gone somewhere on his own," Deputy Commissioner (Detective Department -I) of city police Narayan Ghosh said today.

Singh, along with two woman constables Rajbala and Veerawati, had come to Howrah on Saturday escorting a woman undertrial, Farida, to the Liluah Remand Home.

Their job over, the three police personnel went to New Market where Singh reportely went to the fish market after asking his colleagues to wait.

When Singh failed to return after a few hours, the women constables filed an FIR with the Taltala police station.

Ghosh said police teams were sent to various red light areas and nearby hotels in search of the constable but no breakthrough has been made so far.
