March against Manu statue

PUNE, Dec 1: The Satyashodhak Manch plans to stage a morcha commencing on January 26 from Mahad demanding the demolition of the statue of Manu, author of Manusmruti8217; located the Rajasthan High Court in Jaipur.

Baba Adhav who described Manu8217; as a propagator of divisive, discriminatory and oppressive ideology told mediapersons that the decision to stay the demolition of the statue was done so on flimsy technical grounds. The march will commence from Mahad and proceed to Jaipur via Pune, Ahmednagar, Dhule, Indore, Kota and Sawai Madhopur. The morcha will be in the form of a padayatra supplemented by vehicle cavalcades wherever available.
