State Govt reconstitutes Nomadic Tribes Council
The State Government has reconstituted the Maharashtra State Nomadic Tribes Advisory Council of which Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh will be the ex-offico chairman and Tribal Development Minister Madhukarrao Pichad will be the ex-offico vice-chairman.

The members of the council are MLAs Vishnu Savra, Krishna Goda, Ramji Vartha, Pandurang Gangad,Ramdas Charoskar, Jeeva Gavit, Vasant Suryavanshi, Vijay Kumar Gavit, Padmakar Valvi, K C Padvi, Ramkrishna Madavi, Ashok Nete, D Atram, Vasant Purke, Manisha Nikmkar, Dr Abhay Bang and Dr Mandakini Amte.

Hotel taxes to fall if investment increases
The State Government has assured the Hotel and Restaurant Association that it will lower tax slabs applicable to the hotel industry provided private industries come forward with more concrete proposals to invest more in Mumbai’s hotel and restaurant industry.

Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said that the Government would help this industry insolving its problems as the Government is convinced of sustaining the hotel industry for the development of tourism in the state.

Ordinance to repeal Coroner’s Act
An Ordinance to repeal the Coroner’s Act, 1871 applicable within the local limits of the ordinary civil jurisdiction of the Bombay High Court has been promulgated by the Governor of Maharashtra.

A notification pertaining to this ordinance to be known as the Coroner’s Maharashtra Repeal (Continuance) Ordinance, 1999 has been published in the State Government Gazette, Extraordinary Part VIII of December 2, 1999.
