Manmohan praises Vajpayee for 145;courageous146; steps

Amid a strident attack on the previous NDA government, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had some words of praise for his predecessor Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his 8216;courageous8217; steps to foster peace with Pakistan.

8220;The most courageous steps to build peace were taken by Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif and Atal Behari Vajpayee,8221; Singh said during his reply to the Motion of Thanks to the President8217;s Address in the Lok Sabha.

The Prime Minister said his government has continued the process with President Pervez Musharraf.

Singh noted that the dialogue process was started by the then Prime Ministers late Benazir Bhutto and late Rajiv Gandhi.

In his address in the Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister launched a scathing attack on the previous NDA government for its policies on agriculture and internal security.
