Man succumbs to injuries sustained while chasing kite

A 40-year-old man from Madhavpura died of severe head wounds sustained in a fall from a tree in his attempt to catch hold of a kite on November 30, at the V S Hospital on Monday. This is the second kite-related death this season.

The Madhavpura police have registered a case of accidental death and further investigations are on.

The deceased has been identified as Nazir Hussain Lal Mohammad Shaikh, a resident of Government Colony near Gariya Ghan Ghummat in Madhavpura.

Earlier, a minor girl died after she fell from the parapet of the terrace while flying a kite in the Isanpur area. The police have said that such accidents have shown an increase prior to the Makarsankranti festival.
