
Chandigarh, Sept 14: Two men stabbed a man to death in Ram Darbar here late last night. Both the accused, Shiv Kumar and Rishi Nanda, have been arrested for murder and criminal conspiracy.
The deceased, Rakesh 20 alias Vicky, and the two accused are residents of Phase II Ram Darbar. The accused are in their early 20s.
While the motive of murder is not known, police sources said it was learnt from preliminary investigations that the accused had a brawl with the deceased a few days ago over the issue of liquor.
Quoting eye-witnesses, police said around 10 p.m. yesterday, Rishi and his maternal uncle8217;s son Shiv came to Rakesh8217;s place and said they wanted to hire his mini-truck. While the three went out, Rakesh8217;s father and his younger brother followed them as they suspected some foul play. On reaching a bus stop in Ram Darbar, one of the two held him tight and the other attacked him twice with a knife in the left of his chest.
When Bansi and his son starting shouting, the two accused pushed Rakesh into Shiv8217;s three-wheeler and took him to the General Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32. They said that they had found him in Ram Darbar and brought him there. Rakesh was declared brought dead.
