Chandigarh, Sept 12: Two residents of Bapu Dham colony brutally stabbed a man here late last night. The accused, Shabir Hussain and Rehmad Shah, have been arrested for allegedly attempting to murder Tanvir Ahmed.

Tanvir, who sustained serious injuries on his private parts, abdomen, chest, neck and arm, has been admitted to the PGI. His condition is stated to be serious. Tanvir had reportedly loaned some money to the two which is said to be the reason of the brawl. Police sources said the three, who were intoxicated, were returning home after watching the late night movie show. They alighted from the auto-rickshaw near the Transport lights in Sector 26 and went towards the wooded area. The two attacked him with sharp-edged weapons and left him believing that he would die. Tanvir somehow reached Colony Number 4 from where the police were informed. Tanvir is an auto-rickshaw driver.
