AURANGABAD, June 22: The Aurangabad bench of the Bombay HC here has sought to know from the State whether it would be possible for it to open admissions to engineering colleges only after admission to all medical colleges has been completed, for the current academic year.

The bench, comprising Justices NP Chapalgaonkar and BH Marlapalley, was hearing a public interest writ petition filed by freedom fighter Vijendra Kabra, when it was brought to its notice that a many students who have opted for engineering courses often quit their seats and shift to medical colleges when admissions to these colleges begin. 8220;Thus even in case of seats falling vacant in engineering colleges they are not necessarily filled up by deserving candidates as the admission process in these colleges are closed by then,8221; the counsel for the petitioner Pradeep Deshmukh pointed out.
