JAIPUR, JAN 4: Grammy Award winner Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt has created a new raga Gaurima8217;, to pay tribute to the late Oddisi dancer Protima Gauri Bedi, affectionately known as Gauri Ma.

Bhatt will present the raga at the Vasanthabba-99 festival next month at Nrityagram, the dance village established by Bedi near Bangalore.

Gaurima8217; captures Bedi8217;s exuberance, grace and zest, highlights her charismatic personality and depicts her intense struggle to bring up her dream child Nrityagram, Bhatt said.

Bhatt has woven the raga by fusing notes of the ragas Shivranjani8217; and Madhuvanti8217; as a tribute to Bedi, who died in a landslide in Uttar Pradesh last year.
