Loktantra Raksha Divas8217; observed

PANCHKULA, June 9: The Bharatiya Janata Party8217;s Mahila Morcha, Panchkula district, observed quot;Loktantra Raksha Divasquot; here yesterday. A rally was organised on the occasion in which more than 200 women from different parts of the district participated.

The rally was flagged off by Mahila Morcha president Subhadra Roach and general secretary Neelam Soni from the Sector 11 temple at 5:30 p.m. Passing through Sector 9, 10 and 11 markets, the rally concluded at the Sector 16 and 17 chowk. Slogans were raised in favour of Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.

Senior party members addressed the rally. Member of the BJP8217;s national executive of Yuva Morcha, Ranjana Sahi said that the BJP government is committed to ensure 33 per cent reservation to women in politics.

Among others who addressed the rally were Hansraj Swan, state vice-president of the BJP, Panchkula district, Shyamlal Bansal, vice-president, Shyamlal Sachdeva, general secretary, and Basatram Tuli, president of the district unit of BJP.
